Project: Bamboo-based Sound Barrier
Description: An effective, audible sound barrier for unwanted highway noise. Unlike sound walls, this sound barrier isn’t contiguous, and is completely made from live bamboo.
Applications: Reduce noise pollution in populated areas, improve soil quality, reduce NOx atmospheric gas
Process: FEM software for modeling, harvested live bamboo from grove in Texas for proof of effectiveness, tested with in-house audible measuring and processing equipment
Status: Upscaling model, in talks with government entities for test implementation, seeking first live test site
