High Speed Hot Spot Search Algorithm

Project: Create algorithm to find data with energy concentration in preferred area

Description: Using metamaterial phononic crystal lenses means some focusing effects are highly frequency dependent. This algorithm searches through large data sets to find which frequencies have the most desired features

Applications: Genetic design optimization, improved lens designs, finding hotspots in fields with high accuracy

Process: Function developed using both statistics and science descriptors of desired features for collimation along an optical axis in particular. The data is then put into a Matlab readable form, and the code searches, the sorts the data according to preferred features

Status: Completed and utilized to save 30+ man-hours per data set of searching for preferred features
